The cooperative recently honored Wanda Cooke and Glenda Moseley with a luncheon in celebration of their retirement at the end of May. The luncheon was attended by Wanda and Glenda’s families, Halifax EMC coworkers and board members, and Halifax EMC retirees.

Wanda Cooke joined the cooperative in 1995 as the coordinator of accounting services and was promoted to manager of accounting in 2000. Her expertise and commitment over the last 29 years have significantly contributed to the financial stability and success of Halifax EMC. Wanda is looking forward to enjoying life on beautiful Lake Gaston, spending time with family, especially her three precious grandchildren, and adding more to her husband’s “honey do list.”

Glenda Moseley joined the accounting department in 1997 as the general accounting clerk. Throughout her 26 years she held various roles in the accounting department including accounts payable and payroll clerk, supervisor of billing and accounting, and coordinator of accounting services. Her knowledge and dedication kept the accounting department running smoothly. Glenda plans to keep her son, a talented wood craftsman, busy with projects around her home. She is also looking forward to spending more time with her daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

Wanda and Glenda will be dearly missed, especially as they take with them 55 years combined of electric utility accounting experience. We wish them both very long, happy and healthy retirements!
